| A mail survey was conducted in 1977 of farmers who were thought to be oats producers, using names obtained from several lists. The purpose of the 1977 mail survey was to obtain answers to the following questions: (1) What kind of farmer grows oats, (2) Where does he grow them, (3)Why does he grow them, (4) How does he produce them? Answers to these questions should enable the breeding program and the Extension Program at the University of Minnesota to better address the problems of oat production and thus maintain, or hopefully improve the relative competitive ability of oats as a crop in Minnesota. |

| This final part of the Coelenterate type catalogue lists 274 nominal types (183 Gorgonacea, 9 Actiniaria and 82 Scleractinia). Six not previously depicted types are represented by photographic illustrations of their habit. Furthermore lists are provided of schizotypes, i.e. fragments of types housed in other musea donated at some time to the Zoological Museum of Amsterdam, and of missing types, i.e. types, which should be in the ZMA but were found missing in a recent survey of the collections. |

| A survey is given of the characters used for the differentiation of the species of Synergus Hartig, classified with section II of Mayr. Special attention is given to the phenology of the species, for each of which the life-cycle is schematized, with differentiation in spring- and summer-generation. Two forms, provisionally indicated A and B, could not satisfactorily be identified with any of the known species. Sp. В is a common inquiline of oak-apples; biological observations were made on the larvae. Synergus mutabilis Deitmer, 1924, is synonymized with Synergus albipes Hartig, 1841. |

| In New Zealand the Richardson Report has recommended to government the adoption of a form of inflation accounting known as Current Cost Accounting (CCA). This paper reports research carried out to determine which of the traditional historical cost depreciation methods used in farm accounting might be most appropriate when adapted to a current cost basis. The current cost depreciation methods are compared on the basis of their ability to predict accurately actual replacement values for a survey sample of farm tractors and headers. | The model, which is based on dynamic programming, enables identification of the sequence of actions in a drought which will lead to the minimum expected cost subject to constraints. The model has been prepared as a tool which may be used to assist graziers to make decisions in a drought. The constraints consist of an upper limit on the number of a particular type of livestock which may be agisted (or droved) in a drought, an upper limit on the number sold and an upper limit on cash outlay. Actions assumed available to the grazier are sale of livestock, agistment (or droving), and supplementary feeding (or allowing mortality). |

| A matrix of direct, cross and income demand elasticities at farm level for 14 fresh fruits was estimated using the mixed estimation technique. Prior estimates were derived from past research and application of the symmetry relation, cross induction and subjective judgment. There were no statistically significant conflicts between the sample and prior information. Even though estimation efficiency increased with the mixed technique, only a limited number of cross elasticities could be estimated. |
